Many publishing styles stipulate that for citations of films, the title should be first in the citation. For these styles, when the descriptor field contains the term "film", the title will be placed first in the citation.

If you regularly use one of these styles, to emphasize the director's contribution to the film in your citation for styles that stipulate, enter the name of the director as the primary contributor, and omit the descriptor for the medium (e.g., film, motion picture, filmstrip).
