Citation provides you with a powerful custom format editor that lets you create customized definitions for generating citations from your datafile.

Complete documentation for the Custom Format Editor, including a tutorial, is available at our web site, www.citationonline.net as CUSTOM.PDF.

Citation also provides you with a number of editable custom format files for major publishing styles that you can customize for your own projects, or use as templates to create new publishing styles. The editable custom format files are installed with Citation, on your computer, in the folder c:\Citation\CustomFormats. A sample datafile included with the custom format editor, TESTCF.CIT, provides a set of sample records that will let you test the custom format file with the most typical kinds of records.

The Custom format option on the Bibliography and Generate Citations dialogs lets you print information from your datafile in formats other than those provided as predefined standard formats.
