As you work with Citation, you are going to enter bibliographic information on your source works and research notes in a datafile. A datafile is a lot like a word processing document, with a "record" or "page" for each of your source works and each of your notecards.

To begin working with Citation, you will need to create a new datafile.

To create a Citation datafile:

  1. On the Citation menu, click File, New Datafile. Citation will ask you to select the form for the first record in the datafile:

  2. Click OK to add a blank record form for an Article in a Journal.
